No one understood. No one. Why she did not know but for some reason they never did. Half of her life she spent wandering; trying to get horses to understand...But they never did. Now she was finished trying. Because the obvious was laid plainly before her. No one understood. She stood alone. Bound to a life of Wandering Alone....
No longer did she make an effort to explain. For no one could see it the same...No one. Why was she the only one? She didn't know. And frankly, she couldn't ask for advice either...Because no one understood...No one...
Snow flakes drifted down peacefully from the sweet heavens above as the painted fae entered the lands. Her tresses wavered gently, and a thin layer of soft flakes had formed upon her pelt. Her daggers easily brought her through the slight blanket of snow forming upon the soil, and her tiara was held high. Her nostrils flared as she took in the scene before her. It was amazing. The branches being covered lightly, and the small life burrowing away to escape the chilled breeze flying through. Some flakes caught lightly upon her forelock, and the fae shook her tiara lightly to rid the flakes from her vision. Moving her forelock from her orbs orbs like no other were uncovered. Her orbs were not a particular color; for they were all the colors, but much more then hue they held. But no one ever noticed for no one understood. No One. The fae's trotted strides were graceful, and she was a true beauty. But that mattered not to her. Because the thing about her that mattered most, was one of the many concepts none could ever understand...
The fae slowed to a halt near a willow tree, and shook her painted bodice slightly to rid her pelt of the flakes, and raised her deepening orbs. She looked around and lyrics flowed through her heart, but inside her they stayed, as she looked around. The snow piled up softly in layers, and The fae loved it. She loved snow...or rain the most. Because in snow or rain..she could hide her heart. She could hide, so that she would not have to try to make others understand...because no one did. And the pain of realizing it increased each time. For she was alone. At heart and soul. Because no one...No one understood...But Why?...Why....

Numaric Light fought his way through the flurry of snowflakes. He saw a flash of chestnut and headed towards that. HE trudged through the snow and arrived next to the fae. He stopppd and looked at her in awe. Her coat was the most perfect blend of chestnut and white. He smiled and bowed, Greetings, M'Lady

Snowflakes fell lazily from the heavens, tiny, white intricate little things, none of them the same, each with their own pattern, their own story. To Blaze, the mimicked the mares who stood in the claiming grounds, tired, ready to fall into love but taking their time all the same. Or maybe that wasn't how they felt. No one knew, really. Blaze just seemed to have a bad habit of making things up whether they did or didn't make sense.
The mare who he trotted towards had a deep golden-mahogany pelt with white splotches. Yes, her pelt was gorgeous (Blaze had something about chestnuts. Maybe it was because his mother had been one), but it was her eyes that really called out to him. At first glimpse they looked brown- and then blue- and then green. And then they even looked black for a second. But at closer range, he realized they were not all but one color. Rather, they were a stunning mixture of every hue possible. But rather than the color, there was more in the fae's eyes. Longing, maybe. Loneliness. Pain. And was that... desperate curiosity?
Blaze slowed to a gentle walk as he approached the fae. His warm brown eyes sparkled with what he hoped was understanding and he didn't bother to shake off the flakes which frosted his black mane and golden bodice. He lowered his head in a respectful bow and his neck muscles were exposed, rippling gently under a golden blanket. He had just come from battle and a would on his shoulder was fresh- not bleeding, but scarred. He dipped his head slightly at the dappled stallion before smiling at the mare. Lo, m'lady. His lyrics were soft and melodic, like a gently breeze riding through the wind on the backs of snowflakes. I am Golden Blaze, but most call me Blaze. May I have the grace of your calling?

xxI'm more then you think...xx
The fae pricked a gentle ear as the grey stag came before her. Her orbs watched him as he approached. observed him. he would not understand. Then she caught herself. why was she even looking to see if one may understand, for it was a waste. Because no one could ever understand...No one. All the same though she listened as he spoke. She was polite...no...she was more. But none could understand that either. Even though no one would understand she answered Greetings the words were soft. So soft that they were spoken just barely above a listener, and if the grey stag was not listening, then he would not hear. All the same. It was all the same. It always was...And always would be. The fae made eye-contact with the grey stag, but only for a second or so, for then she ducked her head slightly, and tears came to her orbs...
Always they thought they understood her...But they never did. Never...Because she wasn't meant to be understood I suppose...or was she? But it didn't matter anymore. and that was shown as soft tears welled in her orbs....
Her head gently was pulled up as another figure approached. This time a buckskin. he looked kind. But almost all looked kind. And they ussually were. But that didn't matter anymore. Because no matter how sweet, or loving, or kind, no one understood...no one....
As she raised her orbs she allowed the comforting bitterness of the gentle flakes around her to take away her welled tears, and she simply stood quietly as he emerged closer. The wind whipping the snow past. She listened as he spoke. Because she always listened to lyrics...Just in case someone understood..But no one ever would again. Because no one ever had. Though she still listened. Because that was who she was. And she was more...She was more then everyone thought. But no one understood...No One. She was alone. As his lyrics reached her she lowered her gaze from him, and stared off into something unseen by others. All was silent for a minute or so before she finally, finally turned her gaze back to him and replied. Her words seemed to be more of the wind's then hers, but they were hers...Greetings Blaze... her words were hardly above a whisper I have been dubbed Whispered Song. But you may call me Whisper... The words were soft if one was listening to her. If you were listening to Whisper you may not have even heard. But if you called your attention away, and listened to the wind, and snow...somehow, your soul could hear the words...loud and clear...but only if you listened...listened to the whispers...listened...
xxBut that is something, You could never understand...xx

Blaze listened. He tried to listen to the fae, because she had stolen his attention. But another part of him listened the wind, the snow, the trees. He heard the shy voice of a fae, whispering her calling, unsure. He heard the misunderstood tears of a filly. He heard pain. And he heard no more. He wanted to hear, he wanted desperately to hear more, to see into her heart. Because he sensed there was something she wanted to say... but couldn't. He wanted to ask her what... he wanted to ask her what, but he didn't know what he wanted to ask her. This would make no sense to her, however, and it made even less sense to himself.
Whisper. May I ask what brings you to these lands? It fell from his maw before he could stop it. It wasn't what he had wanted to say, but he didn't know how to say what he wanted to say. He knew the question was probably rude, she would probably be disgusted. He would probably inadvertently hurt her. Just like he'd inadvertently caused a death, years ago. He wanted to take the words back, but they did not come. They hung there in the air, taunting him, dancing with the snowflakes. His heart sped up and beat against his chest, dancing a wild dance of confusion.
Blaze raised his golden tiara and his deep brown eyes sparkled with desperation. Could she understand what he truly wanted to say? Could he understand what she truly wanted to say? Because he sensed there was something more that she wasn't telling... something deep and terrible that she wouldn't admit even to herself. Because she was afraid no one would understand. Because he had felt that way himself, once upon a time.
The lyrics came to him like sunlight on a rainy day, like gold after a ten-year long search, after nearly giving up. If... if you think I won't understand, you may be right. I might not understand. There are a lot of things I don't understand. I remember feeling like no one in the world would understand my pain... maybe I still feel that way. I don't know anymore. But if you're afraid I won't understand... well... I might. And if I don't we can just forget everything. I'll leave you alone. All I want to do is help... because I know how hard it is. You can trust me.
He didn't know exactly why he'd said what he did. He didn't know exactly what it meant. All he knew is that the words came from his heart, and that was what mattered. He gazed into her many-hued orbs and listened.

The softened flakes of snow swirled around, The bitterness of the wind flew lightly, And the silvery moon emerged silently As Whisper Listened to Blaze's lyrics. To some it may have been rude, to some it may have been a simple question to answer. But to her, It was entirely confusing. Why had she come here? she thought. Then it struck her I don't know... but after thinking a bit more she suddenly realized what her answer truly was. She raised her gaze to meet his as she let her slow, thoughtful, and whispery lyrics come forth...
I have come here for a reason unlike most. One that none seem to understand other then I. still...Even I do not. Yet, I do. It lies, flickering somewhere lost inside of me. and I have yet to retrieve it. This is my answer Blaze
The words were spoken the same as last. For if listening to her, you surely would not have heard. But if t'was the wind, the snow, your surroundings that you had listened to, the words would've been given strong and clear. So listen...
Whisper gazed at blaze. Watching him. Observing him. Suddenly she turned her gracefully posed tiara to glance at the other stag of whom had not yet spoken his name. But seeing no change in him she turned back to Blaze. When he spoke once more she listened intently to hear, and was slightly surprized...
None of the stags she had met before had admitted that they may not understand. And yet, here she was standing before Blaze listening to him doing just that. He understands the pain of not being understood...but that is only is own pain...not mine...He could never understand fully...maybe more then most...but he just cannot understand what I expierience...how could he anyway.... she thought softly. Finally she raised her orbs to meet his once again, and as her lyrics came forth a slight sadness entered her extraordinary orbs...
You do not need to explain that you can be trusted. For I saw it in your heart the moment you first spoke. So, Yes I trust you...But you could never really understand. It is not pain that I dislike enduring with the realization...It is much more...I have been born with my soul always being not understood. I'm more then everyone thinks. I see things differently, and much much more. But only once Have I had someone to confide with. I beieved she understood...Turns out she was worse then others. I am alone, and seem to be destined to be so...Because no one can ever...ever understand me...My pain is more...Much more then others, because it is hardly pain and for many other reasons that none fully comprehend....But I am not afraid...I am not weak, and I am not afraid. Not afraid that the world won't understand because I know. I know that no one does-how could they?...It's more then any could imagine, and...I trust you but no one can ever understand...Because I'm more then anyone could ever think....
The lyrics were filled with sadness, because no matter what...no one could ever understand. And she was always alone, with no one to understand...No one....
Her gaze was set down from Blazes, and turned to the snowy ground. And an emptiness was left, because Whisper's gaze was so...overwhelming with emotions, confusion, sadness, and...much more...that when it was suddenly taken away, you were left feeling as if a part of you had gone too...
No one understood....And as much as Whisper wanted Blaze to...He never could...never....How could he?...How could anyone?...Her whole past held a sad truth...because none could ever understand her heart...none....

As Blaze gazed into the fae's sparkling orbs, he saw the silver crescent of the moons reflected in her gaze. And then she looked down and he saw no more of the wild emotions in her chasms, confusion, hope, and a terrible, undescribable grief.
He could not know what had happened to her which had destroyed her view of the world. As much as he tried to see past her clouded eyes into her heart, he could not. She kept pushing him back, pushing him away, because she had been taught that no one would understand.
Whisper... I can see clearly that you are more than I think. You are more than anybody thinks, but they will never know that if you hide what you are. I have no way of knowing what you have been through, of possibly understanding, if you don't tell me. Blaze broke off suddenly. He realized how harsh he had sounded, how cold and unfeeling and as if he didn't care at all. Lowering his gaze, he watched the snowflakes swirling to the ground, and hoof prints in the deep snow. he knew what he wanted to say, but he had no idea how to say it.
He spoke again, his lyrics soft and gentle, and they rode on the breeze until they reached Whisper's ears where they waited... they wondered... would she understand them? I'm sorry. I was rude. Let me try again. He raised his head, his deep brown eyes pleading. But rather than waiting for her consent, he continued to speak, his voice soft and gentle like the lazy snowflakes falling from the heavens.
You have been betrayed, you have told me this much. I know how terrible such a thing is... He paused suddenly, remembering. Betrayal... the ice in his father's eyes... the final scream issued from Moon, her blue, blue eyes wide with pain... he remembered the claws which tore at his heart, and he knew that, to understand, he had to tell her.
His voice dropped, and if you had not been listening with all your might, you may not have heard him. I have been betrayed. True, the one who betrayed me was not my closest friend as I believe your was. But usually, the pain is not too far away. My father... he killed the horse I loved.

She lowered her gaze. He did not see. Yes, he could see more then others, but he didn't understand....just like the rest. A couple of tears filled her orbs as she her soft whispery lyrics came forth....
I-... she sighed sadly You do not understand Blaze...For I have already told you who I am...With my heart. But...you see...no one ever listens...they never hear what I say...because All you have heard so far, was not what I was really saying...there is no message in my words, because the words are not mine...But no one ever notices. You listened to the wind, the snow, your surroundings, which shows strength, but you forgot to listen to the rest...You forgot to listen to the real words that were screaming for attention...You may understand more then others, but you do not understand me...I wish you did, but... she shook her head sadly and continued I have not gone through betrayal. Because...she was my best friend...She DID understand...unlike others...but she changed...and the change affected her so that...she just didn't see anymore...I miss the REAL her, but she is lost...Lost to a part of herself that isn't who she REALLY is... She kept her gaze with Blaze as she spoke her lyrics My view of the world, is greater then others, but none see it as I do...and why?...I do not know...But T'is true...Expierience will help you understand most...But it can not help you understand me...
Why did she stand alone? she did not know...But no one ever truly saw. And even though Blaze understood more then others, he still could not hear what her words were...
her chestnut painted pelt shone out amongst the flurry of snow whizzing past, and her orbs were truly amazing, but no one truly saw them for what the had to say.....none....

Numaric Light sighed. He was being ignored again. Farewell Whisper, Goodbye Blaze. and with a nod of his head he turned to find love elsewhere. The snow was coming down in bigger flakes. They fell on his pelt as hee raceed away. He took one forlorn look back at the mare. She was so perfect... He sighed. He can never get a mare theses days.

She was right. He didn't understand what she was saying, he simply skated on the surface, fishing for a window into her world. He had tried, oh, he had tried! He had tried harder than her had ever tried before, extending his heart, but he was simply groping, groping into nothingness. I know. I don't understand Whisper, I'm sorry. I tried, but sometimes... The words were whispered from his maw and they were barely audible, sounding almost like the wind. Why couldn't he see? And then it dawned on him. A new gleam in his orbs, he raised his head and gazed into Whisper's enchanting chasms. Whisper... I can't see on my own, most no one can. But maybe... maybe you could help me see?ooc- No muse today [/sup][/blockquote]

Whisper pricked an ear and thought a bit. She could try...She took a deep breath and looked up at blaze before saying in her whispery voice Close Your Eyes Blaze... If he wanted to understand he would have to listen...to everything. The warm wind rushed by and her perfect tresses fluttered softly. None could deny it, she was beautiful. She was perfect. Soft, gente, calm, but the whole point was she was much much more...if only they could see...
He would have to hear, and he would have to see...With his orbs closed...She waited for him to do so...

The wind flowed through Blaze's tresses and his lids fell closed over his shining orbs. She cared... she cared enough to help him see what he could never see without someone like her. Blaze had never thought he'd been in love with Whisper before, but now, now that he realized he couldn't understand and she would help hi, he recognized that feeling pulsing through his chest, an unnamed power. Love.
Waiting. He stood, waiting with his orbs closed, the wind singing it's song and the snow dancing it's dance. And as he waited, he listened. He listened and he listened with all his heart, will all his strength, with all his love. And as he stood their, struggling to understand, Blaze caught the smallest of glimpses of understanding.

Whisper closed her optics as well, and waited in the few moments before speaking with still-closed optics I see you. Can you See Me? The words were stronger then before, because this was who she really was, and she needed him to see. She needed him to see because...Because he might be able to understand. And even if after all this if he still couldn't at least he would've tried. Pictures flashed inside of her. And she saw him. Keep trying if you can't. I need you to see with your eyes closed. Whisper breathed out relaxingly as she saw. She saw blaze, but could he see her? Blaze had been hurt in the past, he had told her, and she could also see before, that he was not fully in his heart. Did he really know who he was? She would ask him when they were done this. I see you. she said again, with a strong, but soft voice, though her optics were still closed. You are standing. Standing on a grassy peak. Looking down at the world, with a smile on your maw. Your happy, content, and confident. You do not feel fear, nor worry. You confide in nature, and live your life to it's fullest. You love, live, and have a pure heart. Yes. Who I see is you Blaze. Who I speak of is who I see you as who you really are. But the question is, do You know who you are Blaze? Who are you? tell me. The question was posed, and she needed to know his reply. And who am I? I know who I am, But can you see me? Can you see yourself? What do you see Blaze...What do you see?... Her optics stayed closed, and scenes passed before her mind as she saw, heard, loved, and felt. But could he? Would Blaze know who he was?...

(I'm just gonna make something up... lol)
Blaze saw. He didn't know what it was, quite. It was something he couldn't quite grasp, it was blurry, as if he were seeing it from a distance and he couldn't quite be sure. He saw a beautiful young filly, watching the others play and feeling so left out. No one could understand her. She knew she could play just as well as them- better. But they never gave her a chance because she was different from them. He saw the same filly, older, stunningly beautiful. Blaze realized the filly was Whisper. She was standing next to a mare, talking earnestly. Whisper thought the mare understood- they were the same, they could feel each other's pain. Months later, Whisper stood beside the same mare, and the mare spoke in a honey coated tone, as if trying to comfort the younger mare. I'm sorry, you're too young, you wouldn't understand, you don't know enough. I'm sure you're good at many other things but you can't do this, honey. He felt the pang which had stung Whisper's heart. Betrayal. No one understood what she could do, because they never bothered to look.
Blaze saw a hidden potential, once displayed with pride, but buried under a pile of insults, of disbelief, because no one believed she was worth what she was. She had always stood alone on the sidelines, watching and waiting for someone to see the real Whisper, to call her name, and that sound was sweeter than love to Whisper. All they saw was her beauty, her shyness, her adoration of nature. They saw that when she was alone, she did not complain. They saw that she seemed content wandering through the woods, listening to the wind. What they didn't know was that this was her way to rid herself of the pain, to assure herself that someday, somehow, they would see. But they never did. And so she had resigned herself to her destiny. But in the darkest reaches of her heart, a flame still flickered and she kept dreaming, hoping, that someone would understand.
Blaze's heart filled with emotion and he gazed into Whisper's deep orbs. He knew. Oh, Whisper... I think I see... He didn't know. Only Whisper knew, truly. But that moment, that heavenly moment, Blaze saw.

Whisper's soul stopped and her optics snapped open as she felt the sudden beating across the soil from afar. He did see. She felt it. Somehow, he could. It made no sense, and yet, it made a ton of sense. She gazed into his optics, no disbelief showed in her just a sudden flare of a unreadable emotion. How? Memories came to her. painful ones, yet this time she did not pass them off. no, she embraced them. Because for some reason, she felt a million times stronger. stronger because...she had someone who could understand. And something told her that Blaze was genuine...not like Patronus; the equine who had been her friend, and once understood. Her chestnut tresses fluttered gently, as she gazed into his optics and suddenly her heart swelled in absolute disbelief. You see... the words were whispery, and soft in disbelief, yet they were smooth, and melodic. Something released her a bit. He understood...He saw...

Emotions flooded through Blaze, and his deep brown orbs gleamed with hope. He understood her, she understood him. And now he recognized that feeling he felt when he looked into her pools... it was love, plain as day, shining in his face like gold. The golden stag felt his heart swelling and the sun seemed to shine a bit brighter. Whisper... you know I'd never doubt you. From the moment I saw you I knew that you had something no other horse had. It just took me a while to realize how much I love you...
Yes, he loved her. He loved the way her voice blended with the wind, and you couldn't hear it unless you really cared. He loved the sheen of her golden pelt caught by the winter sun. He loved the way she understood him, the way she was so unique but she was quiet and sweet and didn't run around flaunting her beauty and talents like some mares would if they had been blessed as Whisper. He loved everything about her... but with a single thought, Blaze felt shattered. Did she love him back?

A single tear trickled down from her optic and emotions washed through her before she spoke with her whispery voice, though this time it held something more...Something...from the heart...
Blaze...I-...I love you as Well...
He was genuine. He was true. He was there. He understood. And she loved him. He understood her...he understood. It was hard to believe but it was true. He was the one equine who understood. And finally she was not alone...she was not destined to wander. she had a point again. And Blaze saw that. He had always understood even when he didn't. And that to her was extraordinary...Absolutely amazing. And she loved him. And he had said he loved her back...she was free from her freedom of understanding. she was free form being trapped alone. She had someone who understood...

They were meant for each other as rain was meant for clouds and leaves were meant for trees, he felt it as he gazed into her fathomless orbs. They understood each other... and although Blaze loved Rose and Shadow more than life itself, he knew that no one yet had understood him so well and as deeply as Whisper did now and would forever.
Will you... will you join me in my land, Grassy Plains?
The lyrics fell in a whisper and mixed with the song of the wind as it whipped across the land. He waited for an answer with a pounding heart... but he knew now that she loved him. What would the difference be, said a small voice in his head, if she did not join you as long as she loves you?

Whisper pricked a gentle ear as she listened to his words. Her heart instantly sang the word Yes but right as she was about to speak it, except suddenly another thought wavered through her. What if he was like Patronus? yet another voice assured her that he was genuine. But Patronus was genuine at the time as well... Suddenly her heart screamed back at the other side, and she came back to herself. Blaze was different. And she could name a thousand reasons why. She inwardly scolded herself for thinking against it, and she raised her gaze to Blaze as she said in her whispery way
Of Coarse
And a soft smile played swellingly upon her maw. Her chestnut overo pelt gleamed beautifully, and her deep chasms, filled with colors shone back at Blaze; the stag she loved; The one who understood her...

A light lit up in Blaze's heart as he smiled at Whisper, pouring his whole heart into his orbs. She loved him, she would join him, and they were going to live happily ever after, just like a fairytale.
He nuzzled her neck gently, breathing in her sweet scent of flowers and the wind. There was not need to speak, he simply touched her and their hearts beat as one for a fraction of a second. Blaze finally raised his head towards the heavens and listened with all he had...
Blaze started walking slowly towards his terra knowing that Whisper would follow, because he knew that he would follow her to the end of the earth and back. He would follow her to death and he would enjoy every minute of it.
