The fiery fae entered the land with a lonely expression. So many times she had searched for love and failed. Every time she had convinced herself it was that brutes- they just weren't up to scratch. But now, she wondered. Was it her? Were her standards too high, was she too cruel, to hard? Perhaps her whole mentality about everything being a game and living life on the edge was too much for them. She just wanted to find someone who she loved and who loved her back, but in a world like this, was that even possible?
Hazel orbs scanned the land but it was empty and barren, cold and hard. She released a desperate cry, but it echoed around her and she knew with a resounding cruelty that any equine life was too far from this desolate place to have heard her call. Everything was too far away, and Roulette was lost in a never ending maze of love. Whoever said love was beautiful never had the experience themselves.

The golden stag strode into the claiming lands with his crown held low. He had lost Thersandra not too long ago, and the pain had not decreased. His silky banners wavered gently. He raised his crown and his optics looked around. With a jolt he realized that he was in the Claiming Grounds. He started to turn around because he did not yet have a land, and the guilt would be overwelming if he were to even speak to another mare. And he would've continued...except that there was one fae who caught his gaze. He could tell that she was a million times different then Thersandra, but still something drew him to her...
Guilt flared through him, yet he could not halt. most likely she would be bitter, but he may as well speak to her. there was a chance she was kind and the thing he needed the most right now was just someone to talk too. Anyone. He raised his crown slightly as he strode towards her and finally he halted before her and stood silent for a minute. Suddenly he realized the stupidness of this. Why was he here? But he couldn't turn away now. Finally he spoke with a sadness to his voice, but polite all the same. Greetings he would say his name, but why should he? Anyway, he shouldn't have come anyway. though something told him, that there was a reason he came. And he really hoped that she was kind. He didn't think he could take much more stress upon him at the moment. His brown optics had a deepinging hue, and his silvery banners flew gently as he watched her...

Hazel optics turned to gaze sharply at the new stag. He was good looking enough, but as she well knew, that said nothing about their true personality. Her flame-like tassels fluttered gently in the breeze and snow began to dot her ginger pelt. Her maw formed a single word, small and quiet and unfeeling. Greetings.
Give nothing away, take everything back. That was her policy when first meeting a stallion, until she could tell what they were truly like. But now, the nymph was beginning to doubt even her oldest tradition. So long had she searched and found nothing but rejection. So long had she suffered. A brief flash of pain clouded her dark orbs, and as much as she tried to hide it, it showed plain and cold in her gaze, the first glimpse she's ever allowed anyone into her heart.

Numaric Light walked peacfully into the lands. He sauntered over to find a chestnut mare and a stag next to her. With a deep bow he said Greeting, I hail by Numaric LIght. May I dare to ask your name? Was he speeking to soon? Was he too forward? Thoughts crossed his racing mind as he looked at the beautiful young mare.

A sigh of relief washed over Alonzar as he saw that she was not cruel. His brown optics studied her carefully, and pain washed over his optics, though as he gazed into her optics he saw a wave of pain come to them too. Could they be more alike then he thought? He didn't know but all the same a small spark flicked in his optics in curiosity. And for a moment his heart flicked a glimpse, opening up slightly. That was something that he never thought could ever happen again, yet it just had, and so that was why He opened his maw to speak, but was interupted by another equine...
As Alonzar turned he closed his maw, and pinned his ears slightly in an offensive tone. he had just been about to speak, just been about to show a glimpse of his heart filled with pain, because he had a feeling that maybe she would listen, maybe she would actually listen to him, yet no. Now he couldn't because this stag just barged in. Alonzar was not one to judge, but he couldn't help it as he looked upon the dapple grey stag speaking so proudly. What made him think that the fae would answer? I mean really, he just intrudes, asks questions, introduces himself, and expects an answer? Unbelievable...
His silvery banners flew gently, and his optics narrowed slightly, how rude this stag was. The stag who called himself Numaric Light didn't even seem to see Alonzar. Unbelievable. The metal doors to Alonzar's heart slammed shut, and his words were lost in the thoughts he had thinking of the rude stag before him. the stag who had just slammed metal doors shut in his soul...

Roulette smirked. Stallions could be so stupid sometimes, using all their fancy words and getting all mixed up in them. They had to realize that all those fancy 'what do you hail by?'s' and 'may be ears be graced upon the honor of your calling?'s' only made them sound fake and stupid? May I dare to ask your name? Who could get any stupider? She had a real piece of work here, that was for sure. You may dare. Her voice was as snappish and brisk as it always was, but when she looked at the first stallion she wanted to soften her voice just a little...
He was handsome, but that wasn't why. She had seen something in his expression, in his deep chasms. A flash of something. It could have been pain... maybe hope... and maybe anger? Something pulled in her heart, something she had never felt before, something close to the thrill of adventure but far all the same. And then the fiery chestnut vixen did something she had never done before.
Turning to the palomino stag, she looked him squarely in the eyes, struggling to hide the emotions which surged plainly in her gaze. And when she spoke, her voice was not as snappy as usual. It was strange, because her voice was gentle and sweet, quiet, even, and usually Roulette was loud and bold. I'm Roulette. May I know your name?

The wind whisped by gently, and Alonzar's silvery banners wavered gently as pain, sadness rememberance, even a bit of anger flashed through his deep brown optics. He felt closed, lost, alone. And all because of the stag who had simply intruded and snatched away his chance to speak from his soul. Numaric Light the stag next to Alonzar called himself; How rude the stag was. A slight twitch of a smile came to him at the mare's bold words back, at least she didn't fall for Numaric Lights fakely sappy words. At least. He lowered his gaze to the ground and felt rememberance come. Although suddenly he felt the chestnut vixen's optics turn to him, and a twinge of curiosity was roused in him as he raised his optics to meet hers. His gaze was soft but as he held eye-contact a sudden yet slight flick appeared in his chasms as a bit of spirit came back to them. And strings inside of him seemed to pull as he watched her...
When her words reached him he pricked an ear and he could plainly hear the change...her words were...soft, gentle. Roulette Roulette Roulette the name rang through his ears as a key was placed in the metal doors and the key turned, clicking open the doors and once more releasing him, from it's grasp. And Alonzar watched her for a moment before finally saying softly, the pain gone from his tone Alonzar His golden pelt gleamed as the sun beat down icily, and the grayish sky over head tinted a bit bluer of a hue. He took a breath of the air yet still not taking away eye-contact...the doors were open again...and that amazed him...for he was sure that he had been lost...but now...he had found a light in the pitch of dark... OOC: lol, I guess Roulette doesn't remember Numaric Light from before...

OOC- Yeah, I think she kinda bunched together all those stallions as one and didn't really think about names lol.
A smile lit upon her maw, the first smile in many winters. He had an unusual name, but it there was something about it that she liked. It wasn't a run-of-the-mill, old fashioned fake name like Lightning or Majesty or something stupid. It had personality, it had heart, and for once it was real. Something told Roulette that the stag whom it called was the same way.
The night was looming closer, and although it was closer to spring, the air was beginning to get colder. Rain was falling gently from the heavens, and little patches of snow sat melting away in the distance. Spring was here, and it brought with it new hope.

A soft smile played across Alonzar's maw as he watched roulette. And he was inwardly amazed, because he had been sure that he would never again be at peace with himself. And now, here he was at full peace gazing curiously at Roulette. Roulette, it was a beautiful name, it was unique, yet not strange. It was light, but not dainty. It was bold but it showed boundaries. and It was ringing through his mind uncontrollably. Suddenly Thersandra's words of Never Give Up stopped swirling around in his mind, and they seemed to engrave themselves in his soul, leaving only the name Roulette to still ponder. Gently raindrops fell from above, and Alonzar's optics seemed to lose some of their pain as he watched her. Suddenly the gray stag next to him with his speech that had offended Alonzar didn't matter. The only possible thing that mattered at the moment was Roulette. Then finally he broke the calming silence by speaking softly, yet perfectly able to be heard...
What brought you here, to these lands?
There was curiosity in his voice, and he hoped she would answer. Roulette was an incredebly unique equine, and she right now was doing what he thought before had been the impossible...She was taking away some of his pain. Just by watching her,he was in less pain, and it was strange, yet amazing. Even though Alonzar kept his gaze on her, he was aware of the certian signs of the arriving spring. And with spring came, hope. and new chances...

I'm falling now Can't you see? But no I'm all alone No one to catch me What had brought her here? The truth was, she didn't know quite. She's come because she wanted to find love, that was about all she knew, and she was tired of the constant competition where she'd previously lived. And something had drawn her to these lands... and it was very rare that Roulette would be drawn to anything. Drawn to a stag... this palomino stag certainly had something. When she looked in his she saw something... something she couldn't quite identify. It made her feel dizzy and wild and free... the same thrill she usually got from risking her life. The feeling was the same, and yet it was totally different.
I guess... well, if you want the truth I was looking for love.
Roulette would've felt stupid saying this to anyone else, but right then, it seemed as if the gray stallion had evaporated and it was just her and Alonzar standing there in the new light of spring, linked by some unnameable force which kept circling them bringing them this much closer with every call of a bird. The wind keeps swirling The sun keeps flashing Fate keeps whirling And I woke up in your arms.

Numaric Light looked as the conversation passed between the two. He looked at Roulette when she said that she was looking for love. He waitd paitiently, too afraid of the obvious reply. OOC; short!

[lyrics from Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol]
I don't quite know How to say How I feel Those three words Are said too much They're not enough
fate. That's what it was. yet Alonzar didn't know what to say. A warm feeling had entered him, and he felt free and no longer alone with himself. And he knew that she was...different. Yet she was alike to him an he was alike to her. But they were different. But here they both were, she was looking for loe, and he realized that he had been looking for a friend only finding love dawned upon him....
Strange Thing Love isn't it? It seems that it's not something you find, but something that finds you...
His words were soft, gentle yet curious. His golden pelt gleamed and his silvery banners wavered gently as his deep brown chasms held contact with roulette. Roulette Roulette Roulette. The name rang in his head over and over again...
If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world? All that I am All that I ever was Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

Something I've never felt beforeSomething right and something true It all fits together when I look at you...
For the first time in her life, Roulette did not reply. Her dark chasms were filled with unreadable emotions and as her gaze met Alonzar's, she felt her heart swelling with something she had never known, something she had never thought she would know. It seems that it's not something you find, but something that finds you. It confused her, and yet she knew instantly what it meant. Maybe this was love... it was so wild and painful and even ridiculous, but it was true, and it right. It was so right, so right, just like the sun and the moon and the stars and just like everything in life, in a way.
Her fiery pelt gleamed in the sun, and for a moment Alonzar's golden form was illuminated with light, and he shone as golden and true as the sun itself. And as their orbs met and their gaze held, as they stood, facing one another, bathed in a golden light, Roulette knew. She knew that everything was going to be okay, she knew that no matter how much they had suffered they would all be okay in the end, and he was there for her just like she was there for him and always would be... and for that moment, just that moment, the sun seemed to shine a little brighter.
So many broken dreams But love is no longer what it seems... Cause when I look at you, For a moment, the world is innocent and new.

Numaric Light saw that both of them were madly in love with the other. With a fustrated and annoyed sigh, he said Bye! and left. He wondered if Roulette would be okay. With Alonzar she will, he thought sarcasticly.

I love thee, I love but thee With a love that shall not die
His deep chasms filled with emotions beyond such and as her gaze met his, he felt his heart swelling, beating with something he had thought he never would know again. It had to be love... it was so spirited and free and even incredelous, but it was real, and it absolutely right. It was the same as with thersandra and yet it was more. Oh, it was so, so much more. And it was actually truer. Alonzar smiled softly and his heart swelled even greater, the joy of love overpowering him completely until he saw nothing but Roulette's perfect chasms. She was everything he had ever dreamed of- spirited, beautiful, brave, and she understood him. They were more alike than anything he had ever known or thought to know, more alike, even, than Alonzar and Thersandra. Roulette was so much different than Thersandra, and yet, she meant so much more. It was love.
In the air there was certainty. As soon as he thought the words his heart began to pound wildly against his chest. His deep eyes gleamed with awe; hope. His heart was dancing it's strange pounding dance and hope and love and laughter as it waited. As his heart danced it sang it's sad story and Alonzar watched with a pounding heart, he was hoping, praying dearly, and loving...
But then A single word broke the concentration "Bye!" the word had been. In a moment alonzar whipped his head around to see the speaker. It had been the rude gray stag. The colt had left with a annoyed sigh and seemed sarcastic. Unbelievable. Alonzar muttered and he narrowed his optics. Numaric Whatever came in here with all of his cheesy flattery, and flouncy words, stood tall and self centered, backed down and stayed silent, expected Roulette to instantly fall in love with him, and right when he realizes that the odds are not with him he sticks up his snobby head and flounces away rudely. What a Fake I knew it all along.
Suddenly Alonzar realized that he had muttered the words aloud and turned his optics back to Roulette and quickly said Sorry. He just really bothers me. He's just so fake, and when he sees that it's not going to be a swift drive-through and pick up meeting he doesn't even want to 'waste his energy' and leaves. If you know what I mean... a small soft smile edged onto his maw. But also hope. Numaric Whatever's rude depart may have ruined this all. And Alonzar felt that he couldn't endure that again. And so he dearly hoped that Roulette would understand his sudden comments on the gray numaric whatever stag...
Till the sun grows cold And the stars grow old.

Roulette laughed, a smile gracing her maw as sweet, gentle laughter fell. Alonzar was right- Numaric light was pretty snobby and he had marched right out when things hadn't been going his way. Rather than stay to make sure Roulette would be okay like he would if he cared, he simply decided that this mare wasn't going to join his herd and therefore she was a waste of his time. But he had also done something incredibly annoying- Roulette had just gotten to the courage to tell Alonzar how she felt and now that idiot had ruined it. She silently fumed for a few seconds, and then tried to gather herself.
She knew she loved him, she loved him more than she loved life itself, more than she had ever loved anything in the world. But how... how to say it! It frustrated her beyond belief, and when she finally did find the right words, she hardly knew them for what they were. Her voice was unusually soft and gentle, melodic even as she spoke, dark eyes sparkling with something which had never been there before.
He is a fake... he obviously just wants mares in his herd. But Alonzar... you're different. You aren't fake and if you did just want mares in your herd, well, you don't seem like it, and I would... I would like to join your herd.
Roulette stopped suddenly, realizing what she had just said and realizing what it was missing. How could she had been so stupid?
Because... Alonzar- I love you.
