Prison gates won’t open up for me
On these hands and knees I’m crawlin’
Oh, I reach for you
Well I’m terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can’t hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I’m callin’
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I’m fallin’
Thunder rumbled loudly. So loud that the palomino fae trotting quickly over the rocky terrain pinned her auds back so that they lay flat against her neck. She snorted loudly, as if that would make a difference. It went unheard, as another loud "drumroll" by the percussionist in the sky echoed, and an annoying ringing filled the vixen`s auds. With a slightly painful sounding smack, her creamy banner slapped against her left side, then her right. Defiantly, she came to a stop, and stood still, with all her muscles tensed. She was ready to flee at any moment.
Rain slowly began to fall, just scattered drops. The vixen lifted her head high, and pricked her auds, orbs looking at the dark grey, almost black, clouds abover her. It took not even five minutes, and the rain began to fall faster, and faster. Harder and harder. Colder and colder. Within seconds, she was soaked, and the clear liquid cascaded off her bodice in large quantities. The land, though rocky, had seemed to have hardly any soil. But, in truth, it had plenty. What had been dust beneath her daggers just moments ago was now changing. Instead of being tan and flying up each time a hoof was put down, it was dark brown and oozy. The golden mare shook herself, trying in vain to rid herself of the moisture that clung to her, and would continue to until the storm was over at least.
Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth saving me
Throwing her tiara back, she rolled her orbs and jerked her fores free. Rearing up, she pawed at the air, letting her fury fly free for just a few seconds. She dropped back to earth, and then with an unsatisfied sigh, began walking. As the storm contined, the mud turned to more slop, and it became harder and harder for her to lift a dagger. The earth seemed to want to bog her down, and although she could have used her powers to extract the moisture from the mud, it wouldn`t do her much good. She didn`t feel like bending at the time being, anyway.
Lightning flashed overhead, and with a sharp crack sent a large tree crashing down. Right into the path of the now trotting equine. Sliding to a stop, she flung up her tiara, and rolled her orbs. With flared nares, she whistled shrilly in anger. The sound could easily have been mistaken for the claiming or challenging whistle of a stallion. That is...if it had been heard. Unwillingly, she turned around, and headed back the way she`d come. Without a warning, she slid, turned around and leapt into a powerful gallop. Each stride was long and fluid, and she didn`t seem affected by the mud in any way. Gathering herself, she tucked her fores in, and pushed off hard on her hinds. Within two seconds, she was on the other side of the huge fallen tree.
Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me
With these broken wings I’m fallin’
And all I see is you
These city walls ain’t got no love for me
I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you
Come please I’m callin’
And all I need from you
Hurry I’m fallin’
She began moving again, or at least, she attempted to. The mud was deeper on the other side of the tree, and her daggers weren`t cooperating with her. She struggled in vain for a few minutes, and then rested. Unwilling to give up, she began trying to free herself again, and this time she succeeded. As she jerked her left fore out, pain shot through her leg. Thanks to the adreniline being pumped quickly through her veins, she only felt it for a moment. Tiara held high, she took off, orbs scanning the horizon for any kind of shelter. The rain had become harder, and she struggled to see ahead. Another bolt of lightning lit the sky, and an uncountable number of trees were outlined against the eerie yellowish white light. She perked her auds, as another bolt of lightning flashed overhead, and revealed the outline of a large cave that was not to far from her.
Loud howling errupted, and suddenly the palomino tensed. Her mind was telling her to go, but her limbs seemed frozen. She tried, unsuccessfully to leap into action. She rolled her orbs in fear, and tossed her head high into the air. The howling became louder, and closer. It had been only seconds, and she could hear the wolves crashing through the brush in the woods. Their paws were loud as they pounded ontop of the blanket of leaves laying on the hardened ground. The vixen whirled around, and neighed loudly at the sight that met her eyes. The alpha male and female were almost upon her. Their large ears were flat against their heads, and they snarled viciously. Saliva dripped from the mouths, and their teeth gleamed. Their yellow eyes stared back into her chocolate orbs, almost as if they were challenging her. The rest of the pack began breaking up, moving as if they were going to circle her, trap her in their midst, and then take her down.

To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me

The alpha male leapt forward, still snarling. Something in the fae`s head clicked, and she turned away quickly. Her flint colored hind daggers lashed out, and she felt the impact. Crack. Crack. Crack. The large black wolf yelped in pain, and lay on his side, in the spot where he`d landed. The silvery white alpha female gave an invisible signal, and the pack surged forward, to attack. The vixen lashed out, feeling her hooves connect with several bodies, and the pitiful yelps of pain filled the air around her. When she finally stopped moving, she looked around her. All the wolves she`d not injured stood with their ears forward, glowing eyes fixed on her. She pinned her auds at them, and the large female signaled for them to leave. The mare knew that they would be back though...The alpha`s were mates, and the female would be back to bring food to the male. When she did, though, the fae would be gone.
She shook her head, and picked up her steady trot again. Thankfully, the cave was finally coming into sight. She gave a thankful nicker when she finally reached it, and entered it slowly. Her hoofbeats echoed softly on the stone floor. She walked a little bit further, and then turned.
