The light palomino mare trotted into the land her coat was soaked with sweat which wasn't good because it was very cold but she had escaped a wild cat with only two deep wounds on her rump. She glanced back noticing the cat had given up and she came to a hault, there seemed to be alot of horses here and so she went to the creek and got a drink. She fought the urge to lay down on the snow covered ground, she was so tired but she moved into some trees knowing that her wet coat made her more of a target of getting sick. She wondered if any would try to approch her, but would she stay or run? She had run away from humans and horses alike, she needed a stallion to protect her and help her and her unborn foal to make it through the hard winter.

Unbroken Soul Cantered into the clearing. He stopped and looked around at the mares but one of them caught his eye. She was a beautiful palomino. His daggers dug into the ground as he started walking towards her. Once he got closer, he noticed that the beautiful mare had two deep wounds, and he instantly worried if the mare was okay. He trotted over to introduce himself and to see if the poor mare was alright. Once he reached the mare he came to a halt and bobbed his head to push his forlock away from his sea blue orbs. Greetings, I am Unbroken Soul he said. Are you alright? He asked in a worried tone. He stomped his hoof patiently waiting for her response. Then he shook his head, to get the frost out. When he looked back up his Orbs sparkled in Emotion for the mare, he was truly worried about the mares welfare.

Golden's muscles rippled under her coat as a little blood trickled down her legs from the wounds but the cold seemed to be slowing the flow of the blood. She gave a sight her whole body shook her once warm body was now cold from the bite of the frost. Her horns pricked to the side as she heard the sound of hoofbeats comming her way and she stopped and turned her dial to see a stallion comming her way. She wanted to run but her tired body wouldn't let her. She listened to his words he was conserened but why, none of the stallions in her past would have cared. She glanced back at her wounds and then turned back to the stallion, I am Golden and I am alrighther voice shivered slightly and finally she just layed down in the snow, no longer fighting to stand out of the snow.

Unbroken Soul's Worries were not eased by her saying that she was alright. The mare was hurt, and he wanted to help.Is there anything I can do to help? He asked in a concerned tone. Some snow started to fall from the trees and into his eyes. He Shook his head to brush off the melting flakes. When he looked back to the mare she was lying down, his heart skipped a beat for a minuite until he realized that she was just resting. She looked exausted, he observed. He held back from asking what had happened, that could wait. right now he needed to help Golden. Golden He whispered to himself. The name felt magical to say. He would do anything he could to help her.

Golden looked up at the stallion she could see he really did want to help her but even she didn't know how. The snow fell from one of the trees and landed on her wound, it was cold but it cleaned the wound somewhat. Golden looked back at the stallion and then got up, her limbs shook slightly as she stood once more and she shook the snow from her coat. She wondered how willing this stallion would be to help her. I escaped the humans but when i was comming here I got attacked by a cat.

Unbroken Soul was shocked, This poor mare had been through humans AND on her run to safty she had been attacked by a cat!! Every second more Unbroken Soul was with the mare he grew more sympathetic, and yearning to help her. He would go as far as the Universe to help her. He stomped his hoof in determination. Then bobbed his head as he said It is all over now though and you are safe.

Golden hoped so but there was more to come, how was she going to survive this winter. Not only did she have to find herself enough food to survive she also had a foal growing inside her that she had to feed. That brought up another question, would this stallion accept her foal since it was not his. She worried for the safty of her unborn foal, it would have a chance if it was a filly but if it came out a colt most likely he would kill it. Her orbs watered up a bit but she quickly quit before a tear fell. I shouldn't of ran away, i don't know how to live without humans. A tear fell when she thought of the humans though, she had to fight for her food not only with other mares but with stallions as well and they never gave enough food for all.

Unbroken Soul listened. and his worries eased a bit, Until he saw that single tear fall. It felt like his heart was torn when That tear fell. He more concerned then ever when he asked her Whats wrong!? He came closer to her to be sure he heard her answer correctly. His tail moved back and forth in a fluid motion worriedly.

Golden didn't want that kind of life for her foal but she didn't know what kind of life she would be givin her foal having it out here, where she wasn't sure she could even survive. She turned and looked at the stallion though, which had moved closer to her and her orbs almost seemed to sparkle. He wasn't like any of the stallions that she had lived with, he cared. She wouldn't metion she was in foal just yet with the stallion, Nothings wrong, i was just thinking of what i left. Have you always been wild? Already she felt comfortable around the stallion but wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.

Well, I was born wild. And I lived in My fathers herd until he kicked me out. I never liked my father. There was no goodbye, or anything, he never loved me. he just kicked me out. I'll never do that to any of my foals. I'll let them stay in the herd until they're ready to leave. In fact i'll never do that to any foal, mine or not. but anyway, I gathered up a herd, and we were fine until BLM captured us. they were sold but I escaped. Later I was caught by a wrangler. he was a horrible man, but he had the sweetest daughter and wife, so I stayed there and I put up with the creul man until one day when I saw an escape route and took it. He bobbed his head to move his forlock. So no. I haven't Always been wild.

Golden listened to Unbroken Soul and relized perhaps her unborn foal would be safe with him. She listened more he also knew how cruel some humans can be, but he wasn't cruel like the humans stallions were to her. I was born and grew up around humans. When i was two my humans sold me to the people i ran away from. They had me and about thirty other mares all in the same pasture with about five stallions. Golden paused for a moment the worst part about it was how the humans didn't throw in enough hay for all of them and it was hard to watch as some of the older mares died of starvation in the pasture. There was never enough food for all of us, some died but the humans just brought in more. They just wanted foals to sell. Golden had never had a foal before this was going to be her first. I never had a foal for them but i couldn't see my first foal brought up in that place, i saw many die because thier mother couldn't feed them because they didn't have enough food. She woundered if the stallion had caught the clue that she was in foal.

She hadn't come out and said it her last sentance could have said she was in foal and she wouldn't have it there but she didn't actually state that she was but perhaps the way she had said it left the stallion wondering. She was only two months along and her belly didn't show it for you could actually see her ribs slightly. She wasn't going to lie to the stallion because if she did leave with him he would find out sooner or later and that would break trust with them. Yes, I am the words came out easily but she watched the stallion to see what his reaction would be.

Unbroken Soul's gaze locked on her didn't break. He paused for a few moments thinking And then he said okay! in a perfectly cheery matter. He bounced his mane, and then said It's a nice thing to know about a horse. He looked amused Imagine if I had found that out a while after I asked you to join my tera Then he froze. Well I blew it he thought. I was waiting to ask her until a specific time Whoops He stated. I was waiting to ask you that until later. Although now that it's out... he stomped his hoof. I might as well ask.
He shook his head and arched his neck as he said Golden, will you please do me the honor of joining me in my tera? he waited for her reply, his hopes as high as the stars.

She watched him seeing his reaction had calmed her down a bit he had taken it quite well but his next words caught her a bit off guard. When he finally asked she couldn't help but to be excited, she really did like this stallion. Her brown orbs filled with joy, I would love to join you. His question had only made her happy and since they had met all he wanted to do was help her. She couldn't be happier then to leave with him.

His heart soared and he gave a little rear. he was extremely cheerful until a thought entered his mind that was troubling. he looked to her wounds as he spoke. Will you be able to make it. or do you need to rest first? His blue orbs filled with worry again.

Golden was happy and she had forgotten about her wounds until he asked the question. She felt a little stiff and so she replied, Walking will do me some good, I will make it. She body was tired and she wanted some rest but it was better for her to be moving right now not resting. Where do you live Unbroken Soul?

Golden nodded and walked with the stallion her tail was raised and her head held high as her hooves seemed to move easily over the terra showing off her arabian blood. On their way she asked, Do you have any other mares?

Yes, I have one. He bobbed his head to move his forlock away from his eyes. Her name is Death Clock, do not let her name fool you, she's a very sweet mare Unbroken Soul looked to make sure Golden was following him as they left the claiming lands...
