Fantasia entered the lands her painted barrel buldging out as if she had swalled a balloon. The journey had been long and now she was tired and soon found a nice patch of grass to lay down in. The foal would be coming soon but she wasn't going to wait till the last minute to get to the foaling forest, now she just had to wait.
Only two days went by before the foal began to move into position. Fantasia knew what was happening and had been moving around all day as she was very uncomfortable. Contractions finally started and Fantasia grumbled for she had forgot how painfull everything had been before and here she was again. She couldn't turn back now though and so she continued to push until the legs where out and finally a muzzle could have been seen. Fantasia laid down in the grass her head resting for only a moment as she caught her breath and pushed harder and harder until the last push came and finally she pushed the foal out. The buckskin painted mare was soaked in sweat but it didn't stop her from getting up and cleaning off the new painted foal that layed on the ground before her. Fantasia nudged the foal as it began to struggle to get up on its feet while its mother licked it.
It didn't take but a few minutes for the painted filly to stand and she watched as her mother moved away slightly to graze. The palomino painted filly nickered but her mother stayed close and so she tried to take her first steps. The first try was a failure but I got back up and tried again. Walking came easily but still on shaky limbs and nudged at my mothers stomach until I found her milk and began to nurse.
Fantasia grazed while the filly learned to move and then picked up her head and gazed upon her for a moment as she nursed. Her coloring was a light palomino with white getting alot of color from her mother but not the black in her mane and tail because she took some of her fathers genes. After the filly nursed the two moved under a tree and layed down and rested. Fantasia would stay here till the filly was strong enough to make the trip back home safely.
