The sky was blue, basically. The birds twittered around happily, some crows cawing loudly and tearing off pieces of a deer carcass. Eve only smiled as she passed by. The large bay mare was unusually tall for her breed, but she really didn't know if she even had a drop of Mustang in her. Eve halted at a hill and awaited. Her black eyes were hardly visible under her fetlock and with her surrounding brown head. She gazed around and decided to hold her patience back, and wait, there was no rush, besides, if a stallion was to choose her, they'd have to be pretty strong with a mare like her. She was confused why her named wasn't Rebellion, for that's what covered every inch of her body.

Eve stomped her hoof impatiently. She tossed her head, and then decided, if no one was to claim her, she would pass through all lands and flirt, and then head back here, boy, would there be a jungle. She decided to wait a little more, of she could just go, her patience was running extremely thin.

A golden bodice walked across the grassy claiming lands, his mud-caked hooves basking in the lush grass of spring. His crown was raised high and dark orbs sparkled with curiosity. The claiming grounds were nearly empty, which was unusual in these parts. Usually there were at least four mares standing alone or conversing with stags. But now, there seemed to be only a few mares, most standing alone. Blaze never really knew which mare to approach in these situations, usually he let his heart tell him where to go, as if love at first sight did exist, although in truth Blaze knew it didn't. This day, his eyes fell on a tall, athletic looking bay mare, stomping her foot and tossing a beautiful black banner. She certainly had spirit, and it was that which drew Blaze towards her.
Upon reaching the fae, Blaze dipped his head politely and as his forelock fell into his eyes, he tossed it away and smiled at the mare. He spoke softly, hoping his voice was gentle, because you could never what would upset an equine and what they had previously suffered.
Greetings, m'lady. My name is Golden Blaze, but most here call my Blaze. May I have the grace of knowing your dubbance?
He hoped his words weren't too fancy; he knew some mares hated it when stallions used words like dubbance and calling and honor, but then again there were some mares who liked it, and it was impossible to tell at first look, like with everything.

Eve turned her head to the oncoming stag. She held still as he approached. She just watched him as he spoke, hardly listening, and only watching and admiring his beautiful body and well groomed coat. But then she wondered, who groomed that coat? Another mare? Eve snorted and snapped back into reality. She turned her eyes to his.
"Nice to meet you Blaze," she said. She was a little thrown back at the fancy talk, but she payed only a small amount of attention to it. She paused, and then answered, he was lucky to be the first person to know her name. "Eve," she answered. 'Eve' didn't really have a name. She knew herself as Eve, but then not really. She knew herself as 'Rebel', 'Honey', 'Free', and many more. Blaze would learn more than just one of her names.

Eve. It didn't seem to fit her, somehow. It seemed to calm and delicate, whereas their mare seemed so rebellious and wild... not to mention she seemed to have a very high opinion of herself. Ah well. blaze thought. Even if she does have a big ego, it's well-reasoned. He smiled at her, taking in her well-formed muscles and sleek chocolate pelt, the gleaming orbs.
Pleased to meet you too, Eve.
ooc- ack, my muse has escaped.

Eve noticed him think. She hesitated herself when he spoke, and awaited her answer. She only put on an expressionless face and waited. "Yeah," she said. She didn't know what to say, but something caught her with the stallion. He defiantly may not be her type, but something in her heart flickered and fell as he spoke.
[[OOC: That's ok. Think of some good ideas, that's what I do to get the muse up again.]]

An awkward silence filled the air and Blaze watched Eve intently. She was so different from Rose and Shadow and Whisper, so different from the mares Blaze usually found himself falling for but she definetly had spirit, lots of it, and that was something he had always loved. But what was he doing, picking away her qualities and faults? Hadn't he always hated stallions who did that? Be yourself. Blaze reminded himself, glancing into the distance before locking gazes with Eve again.
What brings you to the arrowheads?
The question was asked with uncertainty, a desperate search for words which seemed to have formed on his tongue but just didn't seem right. There was something about Eve that made Blaze's heart beat a little faster but he couldn't be sure, not yet.

Eveleaned on one foot. She made a sigh, her own annoyed arrogant sigh. Eve tended to become annoying and naughty, causing trouble to and fro.
"I come why ever other mare does. What are you here for?"
she jeered. She was just being herself. The annoying rude mare. Eve could only remember being called, Taz, when she was with the humans. And she could only remember being taken out of the long ride to the slaughter house and then being smacked into the woods. She was the only one released, I guess they thought her so annoying, they gave up. But Eve was just as confused of why her owners had sent her to the slaughterhouse.
Eve snapped back into reality and waited for his answer impatiently.

Blaze smiled at her attitude. Usually he didn't like mares who had a lot of attitude but there was something about Eve that made his heart beat a little faster. And so he decided to play along. With a little smirk, he replied in teasing lexis. Me? I come here why every other stag does.
(I have to go soon so I have no muse... sorry.)

Eve only grumbled at his comeback to hers. She then stomped her hoof and said, "So? What do you want?" he said, being sassy again.
[[No prob, same here!!]]

Blaze smiled at her sass. This mare certainly was something, and even though he usually didn't like the smarta** faes, this one was starting to grow on him. He flicked his tail and his deep brown eyes sparkled in the bright spring sunlight, shining, dappled, through the foliage.
Oh, nothing much. Just passing by. I'm not looking for mares to build up my herd, if that's what you think. Just to get to know. I'll leave you alone if you'd like.
He would. If a mare didn't enjoy his company enough to want him to leave, then they would never get along well enough to share a land, for her to be in his herd. Blaze wanted his mares to be happy with their stallion and it was one of his highest principles never to take a mare by force.

Eve stopped and considered his offer of joining his herd. If that's what he was trying to get at. She then was a little annoyed, the stallion seemed submissive, allowing a mare to do whatever she pleased. Eve preferred the stronger type, the one who force everything upon a mare, and she hesitated. "If what you're offering is a.k.a. join my herd if you wish, then I accept," she said, once again in her snoddy way. ((Could you write in a different color? I have some trouble reading it, thanks )

[Yep, sorry about that. If you want black instead of green just tell me and I'll be happy to change.]
Where she'd gotten that request from what he'd said Blaze didn't know, and he was slightly shocked to find that she wanted to join him, But she had began to grow on him and he liked her spirit.
That wasn't really what I was asking, Eve, but I would be honored to have you in my herd.
He hoped he didn't sound to fake or sucking-up, because every word he said was sincere. Blaze had always hated horses who faked their way to the top, changing their demeanor for each and every mare to impress them.

Eve shrugged. She didn't care, I mean she was just the old mare you find and capture and spread on the linage, bla bla bla. Eve decided to play hardball, she wanted fun, besides, toying with a stallion could become fun in the end.
"Make your choice stag, I don't have all day"
she grumbled, tapping her hoof in an oddly human-like way. She didn't like making decisions, just watching them happening.

A slow smile wrapped around the golden stag's kissers a twinkle in his dark eyes. As much as Blaze was strangely drawn to this mare, so unlike the rest of his herd and he wanted her to be happy, she confused him. One minute she was saying she would join his herd, all snappy and sassy, the next minute she was grumbling about him having to make a choice. Mares, he'd never understand them.
But Eve, it's not my choice to make. I would be honored to have you in my herd, only if you wish. I don't want to take you by force.
Blaze looked into her dark, almost black optics, searching desperately for a clue to what she might be thinking. He had never met a fae quite like this Eve and he sensed that there was something more to her, something mysterious and possibly even dark. He wanted to help her but it was clear that the bay vix wouldn’t be sharing anything about her past anytime soon… the best he could hope for was that she would be happy if she did decide to join him and safe and happy if she didn’t. He honestly didn’t care either way as long as she was well cared for… but then, if he didn’t care either way what was that strange feeling in the back of his heart which ached every time he pictured her with another stag?

E v eMy life is a m.y.s.t.e.r.y. to you
Eve only grumbled under her breath. She raised her purple-like eyes to meet the stallions. Her long forelock covered her orbs, yet she tossed it aside carelessly. She stared at him carefully,
"I have no time to wait, my life ticks off every moment,"
she growled. She hated making choices, she wanted nothing to do with it. Besides, her time was becoming like a broken clock, ticking its last tocks, in the ocean blue.

She hated making descisions, obviously, but that didn't mean Blaze was going to make it for her. He had strong principals to uphold, and besides, he could be just as stubborn as Eve and he could prove it.
That's true, life ticks off every second and there's things to do, places to go, a life to live. But what would life be without a little waiting? Anyway, you aren't the one who's waiting, Eve. You're the one making the decision.
He took a small step backwards, giving her her space, letting her think. Blaze had never been like this around a mare, but he sensed that it wasn't a bad thing... Eve was just different, she made him different, and that was all right. But as he watched her, he sensed there was something darker, something deep and dark that she wouldn't, or couldn't discuss. He wanted to help her, but how could he help her if she wouldn't open up?
All right, I'm sorry, I put you on the spot. Anyway, I don't think you should join my herd unless you really want to Eve, not just to please me. Because if you aren't happy, I won't be pleased.
