The blind, ebony dove limped into a lone valley, her left foreleg was injured when she ran into a large crack in the rocks on the way up the side of the valley. She tried to listen for any movement but she could hear none, as the winds blew quickly around her, swimming through her mane and whipping it in her face. Though it didn't bother her as she couldn't see it anyways she limped until she heard the echo of a cave. She layed down letting the weight off of her injured hoof, her dark shadowed eyes closed as her pain from the trip ran up her legs and then her spine.

A misty stag stood near the mountains, peering down over the ridge. With his auds pricked and orbs alert, he spied a limping black mare moving into the rock walls. Was she a ghost? No, he realized that she had moved into a cave. Now muscled bunched and banner sang as the stag jumped down to the area below. When he found himself landed, he stood up and peered around. He had seen her on the ledge above him just seconds earlier, so he began climbing up the side of the ledge to the cave above. He let his hooves fall louder than necessary, so that the black mare would know that he was coming. He trotted at an easy pace, daggers falling at a steady beat. Trit trot, trit trot... He was near the cave now, and he finally came to a stop at the entrence.

"Why hello." said Spot to the stallion, his appaloosa coat gleaming with sweat, couldn't this stallion realise that he was courting Blind Love?

Auds pricked as the stallion heard a mare's lyrics flow. He turned also when he heard another stallion speak. Hello flowed his meldolic, deep voice. He now was peering into the cave, trying to locate the mare. This would have been hard if he hadn't orbs that were acustomed to the darkness, but he loved the night more then anything, so he saw her vaguley outlined. With a nicker, he strode towords the balck mare. When he was seven horse-lengths away, the powerful stallion came to a halt. Silver blue orbs shown with kindness as he repeated, Hello. My name is Silver Moon; may I know your calling? He waited patiently for her reply, silver pelt glowing in the moonlight.

Blind listened, she heard two different voices, I am Blind Love but please call me Blind. She said as she stood up on thick pillars.

The silver stag nodded his head as he heard her reply, and watched with sympathy as she tried to look at him and the other stallion but sort of missed them in her gaze. This femme was blind; her eyes were a whiteish color all the way through. This did not bother him, though; it was what was inside that counted, right? Turning his head to look at the other stallion, he replied to him, as well. Good evening to you as well, nameless stallion. He knew he wasn't interrupting any conversation, because he'd seen this stallion on the way up here. Moon turned his head back to the mare and breathed into her nose with his; a way of greeting. Also, it might tell her that he was talking to her now. It's a pleasure to meet you, Blind Love, but I cannot bring myself to calling you Blind, so may I call you Love? He didn't like the idea of calling her Blind, because that's what she was; blind. It was like calling a cripple Cripple or a mute Mute. He didn't feel in his heart that that was nice, or even just. Scruntinizing her expression, he breathed once more into her nostrils and took a step back, waiting for either horse to reply.

ooc/ I think aleximothegreat won't post again they haven't been on in a while She felt his breath on her muzzle touched the tip of his maw with hers, taking in his scent so she might be able to identify the difference in the stags. She listened intently to his words and nodded, I understand. You may call me Love. She had always been called Blind back in her old herd and it had stuck for a while, until now nobody had wanted to call her Love. Saying she didn't deserve it, she wasn't absolutely gorgeous or anything.

His dial nodded and he snorted. This mare was pretty simple, wasn't she? Well, Love, what brings you to this area of the claiming grounds? Honestly- of all places to find a blind horse, in a cave on a mountain? And he wasn't about to ask her that stupid question every stag knew the answer to- 'What brings you to the Claiming Grounds?' It was like asking why a horse was at a drinking hole. Stupid, if you ask him. While he waited for her answer, he examined the cave for the first time. The walls were a brownish-blue color... But wait... Looking closer, he saw that the blue was little sapphires encrusted in the cave walls! His own sapphire orbs widened in disbelief. How could Love have picked a beautiful cave like this, of all the caves? Luck of the draw? Or was there more to this mare than she was letting on? He turned his dial back to her, waiting for her reply.

She took in the scent of the cave before turning to were she had last heard his voice, listening to him talk she wanted to laugh at the question. If you looked close enough you probably would have seen humour in her silver eyes. To find a herd, so that maybe I may have some sort of protection from things I can't sense. Not wanting to say the things she couldn't see.

The stag nodded, knowing what Love meant. But seeing wasn't everything. You could still show expression, speak, love... And there was the term 'I'll believe it when I see it', though it's very often untrue. For this mare, she would have to simply listen to the sound of Silver Moon's voice and be assured by his smell and touch. Silver Moon's expression was nonchalant, though he was slightly humored himself. Well, sure I already knew that. Let me rephrase my question: Why did you choose to climb up a rocky mountain and go into a cave when it's so much easier to simply wait in the grass like is ususal? He smiled at her, though he knew she couldn't see it. But... How should he go about telling her his expressions? Surely not by saying 'I'm smiling' because that would be compleatley lame. But then how? He didn't know, though he would find out soon enough. Maybe she could sense when happiness radiated from another's body? He didn't know, though; he'd never been blind. And if he asked, would she come into his herd? He only wanted to claim this mare if they grew fond of each other. He'd wait. Yes, wait a while longer. But first, he would wait for the answer to his qustion.

She smiled at his question, the echoing she had heard she knew had come from a cave why she had come up here was even unknown to her. She started to think of all the possibilities, Was it because I didn't know where I was going? She thought with a small hint of doubt, Or because I wanted to prove to myself that I can do whatever others do. Even though I am blind. That one thought was true, she had climbed a mountain because she wanted to prove to herself that she could climb at any hieghts without much trouble. Although she had failed obviously looking at her leg. She knew she had to answer him and she answered in a slow, thoughtful voice. I guess it's because I wanted to prove to myself that I was better then what others had always said I was, they always I would never be able to do the things they did and in truth I probably couldn't without getting myself injured.

The stag understood what Blind Love was saying. He felt sad that others made her feel like she had to prove herself, because he could already see that she was amazing as it was. Even though she was blind, she climbed up this bluff and into a cave. He'd had slight difficulties with sight as it was. Well, you definantly proved that you're an amazing mare, Love, he replied softly. His orbs were observing the cave still, but all his other senses were being thrown at Blind Love. She'd said she'd gotten injured... He didn't want his worrying to be obvious, but then again how could it be obvious to her? Sighing deeply, he examined her leg that seemed a little mangled. Silver Moon's legs ate up the space between them, the hoof falls echoing off the cave walls. This way, she would know where he was. Kind of. Lowering his head, he looked at the leg more closely. Still speaking ever so softly, he said Your leg does look hurt, but still. You are perfectly able to do what any other horse can do, just with a little more difficulty. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They're wrong. Completley and utterly wrong. Oh, how he wanted to sling his neck over hers and comfort her! But he really couldn't; she didn't know him that well, and he didn't know her much. So far, he knew several things: She was blind, she often got laughed at and teased for her disability, and she wanted to prove to the world that she wasn't just 'that blind mare'. She was so much more than that, he could tell, but how much of herself had she had to keep locked away because of other's tormenting?
