Daggers hit the soft earth gently as the fae pranced lightly into the moonlit clearing. Her moves, were so graceful, and angelic that it was as if she was preforming a dance in the twilight. Her coat shone a silver stain, from afar. But as the beauty approached colser, the black spots upon her silky coat were plainly visible. Her arabian blood was ovbious, and she was a true equine beauty. Her orbs sparkled unconciously. Questions flew through her mind, and she pondered them lightly...
Would she find a love here, or was this place like all the others? Was there a Stag worthy of her heart in this vast land, or would she depart once again? She knew not but there was only a way to find an answer. So the fae raised her graceful head and let a melodious sound escape her maw. She was calling to any stags around this clearing. Thoughts once again entered her mind. What would the stag(s) be like? would they be fake? Like some she had known. Would they be rude? she could not stand rudeness. Would they be crazy? She most certianly had met crazy ones. Or maybe, just maybe would one be different and maybe...though it seems unlikely, would one somehow capture her heart? Well, there was one thing she knew. That was that she most certianly did not see herself being dragged somewhere. For if it came to that she could be plenty of trouble. She was NOT a weak mare. She slowed to a halt, and pricked her delicate ears, her tiara held high as she silently waited......

Zodiac entered the lands for his first time, he had just claimed a terra as his own and knew not of what mares would stay within it from the old stag. His head held high with his ears pricked forword and he stood on the rise that over looked the claiming grounds. His nostrils flared as he took in the scent of many mares but he had not the heart for love. He was a trouble maker and was looking for a good fight. He laid his eyes on a spotted mare not far, she was alone but not for long and knew others would come if she was light heart like all the others. His muscular frame made its way down the hill at at a graceful trot, his long wavey banner cascaded down his neck and swayed with the light breeze and his movement. He showed the gracefullness of a friesian and the build of both of his parents.
Zodiac came within feet of the spotted mare, her head dished like that of the arabian but marked like that of an appaloosa. She was pretty but he had to see what her temperment was like. What is your name mare? His words were strong and carried a sting to them and her reaction would tell him everything he wanted to know.

The fae turned to the stag who had spoken. She had the sudden urge to make a short bitter remark to the disrespectful words. But expierience kept her from doing so. She quickly collected herself and spoke with not a hint of emotion in her voice. I do not see why to you it would matter Considering, your rude introduction. But I am dubbed Laced Legacy. You may call me Lace if you wish. She could be sweet, yes. She normally was, but she had a slight temper. and would not stand to be pushed around. She raised her tiara high, showing no disrespect to the stag but not letting herself go like other mares, who so easily fell for stags. She spoke to the stag once again What is it you are called? Her question was to the point, and gave nothing away as she spoke. Her banners gleamed in the twilight as she waited for his reply....

Zodiac could see her spirit in her orbs though she hid it in her voice. He smirked perhaps she wasn't like the rest of the pety mares the covered the land. Though his father never was around he had still learned enough from his mother to be harsh. The mare stood her ground but that didn't matter he needed mares for a herd and he would only have the strongest and so far he liked what he saw. I have been dubbed Zodiac. His words kept their sting and his voice was unchanged. He needed not to push mares around he only got his pleasure in messing with other stallions. Though stallions spat upon mares he only spat upon the weak mares that danced around a stallion as if they were a god. What is it that you might be looking here for Lace?

Lace listened to his words and raised her tiara as she replied plainly I am here to Chance at a new life. That was it. Anyway, that was all she had come for. A new life. With a stag that wasn't too stupid or sappy. Which Zodiac ovbiously wasn't. But she was not even close to falling for him. He was just another stag, and he would stay that way, until she knew him better. He was not being rude, or disrespectful to her, so her replies, were not harsh, and bitter. But they were not giving either. Her orbs sparkled slightly, and her coat gleamed a silvery stain....

Though he could be like his father and come around and try to make the mare go to his herd where was the loyalty from the mares in that. One day you could come back and once again have no mares. He really didn't see how his mother stayed for Darkwing was never there and when he was it was just because a mare was in heat. Though he despised his father in ways he also looked up to him for he was a strong stallion and he was blessed to carry that with him. Turning back to the mare though, And what kind of life would that be? He had no need for conversation starters right now for he wanted to know the mare more not just push it off. Eventually you would find out and Zodiac perfered now instead of later. He was looking for a strong mare to take in as his lead and she had to be able to take care of things incase he was away fighting or whatever.

Lace pricked her ears at his words, to listen more carfully. And responded with the same tone as before. simple and to the point A life with a stag who isn't sappy, and weak, or evil and ignores his mares completely. A life where you aren't treated like a god/goddess persay, but still have some respect. And also a life with a strong herd. Not a weak, over-emotional one. she raised her tiara high and made eye contact with the stag before her. she needed a stag who wasn't sappy, and too overly-emotional. But she needed some respect, so that she could return the respect, and give her loyalty. But she did not get lost in her thoughts and quickly, re-collected herself....

Zodiac listened to Lace she seemed to want the same thing as him. He gave respect only to mares that were strong enough but don't act like they are all powerful. He watched her for a moment his gaze was strong but wasn't full of hatred, though his father was very dark his mother still had a heart even if she didn't want to show it and she passed it on to him. He would not put mares down unless they loved the stallion at site and danced around like a filly then he might get harsh, but not this one. The spotted mare...Lace, had the temperment he was looking for. She was strong willed but did not fight or loose her temperment and she wasn't about to say hi, how are and ohh i love you. He liked that about her and with that he went back to words. Now he wanted to learn a little about her past, alot of horses grew up in the wild but some come from humans. He didn't need a mare that got scared about thinking about her past, for he had seen some already and they were flighty and everything. How is it you came to the Arrowheads? His questions short, he wasn't much of a talker. But he wasn't just going to ask her to join him for she would say no in a heartbeat. Atleast if she is the kind of mare he was thinking of she would.

Well, My mother was captured by humans a few months after I was born, Along with the rest of the herd. Excrpt me. Because even as a foal, I was smart enough, to stay away from them and not get herded. So I grew up strong and on my own. I actually liked it better without the herd. I missed my mother a bit, but not to much, so the feeling quickly passed away. I was taken by an evil stallion to his herd. And I didn't know he was too evil until I got to the herd. for a few weeks, I put up with him, but after that I got tired of him being so rude, and ingnoring. So I gave him a piece of my mind. In an hour I was well on my way to a new land almost completely unhurt, and he was in great pain. So after that I decided to try to go to a "sweet" stag's herd. Turns out he was the dumest, sappiest stag I have ever met and his whole dumb, weak herd, was WAY to emotional. OVERLY emotional. Also the stag treated his mares like goddesses and the rest of the herd treated him like a god. It was a nightmere. So I gave him a short insult and walked away. He was to "emotional" to follow. After that there were 2 more other dumb stag's but their not too important. After that I just came here and decided to try maybe, once more. Her tone was the same as before and her tiara was held high as she concluded I'm not much of a talker ussually. But I can't summerize my past much Her words were plain, but true. And her orbs revealved nothing

Zodiac listened his black ears pricked towards her and she put her past up front to him. Stallions that were cruel and were never around didn't have loyal mares and it was suprising that they had any mares at all. But the kinder stallions that put their mares up on a pedistool and stared at them, drulled over them was pethetic. Mares and stallions had their differences, stallions fought other stags and watched for humans while mares make the herd and usually the lead mare controls where it goes and grazes. If the mares wish to leave one stallion can only keep one for he can't force anymore to stay. Her last words put a smirk on his maw, they shared a few similarities. My father is the kind that tries to force a mare into his land but i can't really say much about him because during the three years I was there, I only saw him but twice. He remembered his mother as he had left. She was upset with Darkwing and he was still waiting to see her come into the claiming grounds but he had her loyalty and Zodiac didn't see how. Im not much of the talking kind either. Not much for me to say about my past, I grew up in the Thundering Ridge herd then I moved to the bachalor lands and now I have claimed my own terra. His words never lost their tone though they had tried to turn kind. He sneered it off though and let them keep their sting for who knew if this was the mare that he wanted.

Lace nodded. She opened her maw to speak, but the words that were to come sounded almost...sweet, But before she spoke she caught herself, and no sound came out. She would not let herself go. Anyway, she could not trust this stag yet, for she hardly knew him, and she would be sure this time about what stag she would go with. There would be no more mistakes that way. She raised he tiara, and made eye-contact as she spoke And in that way, are you alike to your father? Her words were just as plain, and simple as the other replies she had given. And her words did not give away anything. The question was posed to be a regular comment. But really to Lace it was a test. Whether this conversation continued would depend on what Zodiac's reply was...

Zodiac could see that Lace wanted to say something but she halted as if really not wanting to and he would respect the space. He listed to what she asked, her words keeping their same tone with him which to him was better then them getting worse. It was just another question but the thoughts ran through his mind, was he? Maybe in some ways I could be like him but like I said I hardly knew him. But in other ways I am much different then him. He was never there for his mares and to me the stallion should be with his mares for that is how you get a bond and then you have loyal mares that will stay with you till the end. My father is also the type to try and force a mare to stay with him and I don't plan on trying to babysit mares just to keep them a part of my herd so I want them to come willingly. That was all he had to say, he couldn't say how he was like his father because he didn't know Darkwing. He could say though that he had a heart like his mothers, he will fight to stand up for himself and others that he is loyal to but he also had a kind side very deep inside.

Well, he aced the test. He's not sappy, but not evil... Lace thought plainly, but their was a bit of gentleness in her thoughts that she had not noticed. She nodded as a response, and then raising her tiara made eye contact. her gaze, was not hard, or disrespectful. It was straight forward, and plain. But if you looked carefully you could see a glimmer of respect for the stag, A SLIGHT glimmer. She was not falling. It was not that she was not kind. She could be. But the one who expierienced the kindness, had to show her that they deserved it, and even then she was not like other sappy mares. she was not overly emotional, or afraid of her past. She was strong, inside and out, and this time she would be sure about what she was getting herself into. Lace stood and silence lasped between them as she pricked her ears to see if words would come from Zodiac...

Zodiac stood his full height though he wasn't as tall as his mother he had managed to be just slightly taller then his father. His ebony coat gleamed in the suns rays and his dark orbs not as hard as they once were. He gazed into her orbs, her gaze had slightly changed towards him and he could see that perhaps he had made a difference on the mare. Now the silence was dragging on though and it was time for one to break it and she was not going to but it didn't seem like the right time to offer his home to her either. He really wasn't much of a talker and he had already asked the simple questions that he had on his mind, now what? Is there anything else you want to know about me, or perhaps something that I should know about you?

Lace pricked her ears, and raised her elegant neck as she listened to Zodiac's words. She pondered the though for a moment, and then raised her silvery orbs to his as she spoke Well, I give as much respect to others as they give me She started the words a bit softly but caught herself, and regained her tone, and yet the tone still had a unseen (to her) difference to it. Then she continued And... She thought for a moment what did she need to know about him?.... Well...Is there anything you believe important for me to know about you? She finished. Her tone had not turned soft, no, But it was not the exact same.....

Zodiac smirked on the inside, he could sence that she was beggining to loosen up a bit around him and so he returned the favor. His voice lost the sting to it but still he spoke strong for he would not become like those of the over emotional weak stags. I think that respect should be earned and not given. Zodiac thought a moment still and then fianlly asked, he knew it was probably still a bit soon but he hated leaving his new terra for too long because then challengers would try and take over. His gaze had softened a bit towards the mare for a second but he pulled it back. Would you like to join me at my home in the Hidden Falls? He couldn't think of anything else to tell the mare about himself but he would continue to think about it and if she decided to come then he could tell her when he thought about it.

Lace shook her head in agreement to his statement about how respect should be earned and not given. That was most certianly true, and for some reason, this time, the concept of her being wrong did not bother her. She pricked her ears, and listened to his words. His words slightly shocked her. She was not expecting that to be his words. But Something kept her from quickly declining. For as she thought about it she realized, that she had no reason to decline. She could not snap back that she hardly knew him, for she didn't know what else there was that was entirely important to know to make the desision. Silence lasped between them as she pondered the question...
Finally she raised her tiara and looked straight at him, with her silvery orbs. Her mind was made up, and she held a strong gaze with Zodiac as she spoke the words. I accept your offer Zodiac. Her voice was strong and her mind was made up....

Zodiac nodded pleased with her decision and then he thought about the terra and decided that she did need to know something, not about him but the other mares. I have recently taken over the terra because the old lead was captured by humans. The mares still remain and the lead mare is still trying to claim her position. He didn't offer the position to Lace just yet because he wanted the strongest and he wanted to see how she stood with the white mare in the terra. In this case the more dominate mare would be his lead and the mares new it. His words kept strong and he walked beside Lace to show her his home.

Lace nodded and spoke strongly ((not in a mean way, or plain like before, just...strongly)) Thank You for informing me. she raised her tiara high, and followed next to Zodiac. Her graceful neck high, and her silvery orbs swiftly observing Zodiac. He was a handsome stag, and was most certianly unlike the others. She turned her orbs back to the land ahead, and walked swiftly beside him. Her spotted stained pelt shone out among the landscape, and her tiara was held high as she walked. Her muscles, were ovbious when she moved, and she was quick as well. This mare he spoke of who still tried to attain the postion of lead mare would not push her around, even if in the end that mare ended up being lead. She never fell, behind because of her smooth, swift steps beside him.....
